KJ TURNS TWO... CROQUET AND ANTIQUES
I don’t even know where to begin to process the fact that I have a two-year-old, even writing that feels surreal (but I’ll save all of that for another post). I’m totally not one of those moms that feels the need to plan huge expensive birthdays so for KJ’s second birthday we decided to do something low-key. We found a cozy place nestled on a picturesque lakefront in the Poconos and decided to do what KJ loves the most— surround him with family, friends and good food. The way our hearts sang that weekend will be forever etched in my memories. Watching the sunrise over the lake, chasing croquet-wielding kids around and sharing homemade meals at the longest table I’ve ever seen were all highlights of the weekend. To cap it all off we explored one of my favorite antique spots in PA— Olde Engine Works where I scored some beautiful Delft plates and a silk scarf. Sharing all of these experiences with the people I love the most was medicine for the soul.
